Sunday, June 1st, 9:00 am-12:00 pm American Rivers National Clean Up (Lock Street Parking Lot of Main Street) The Schuylkill Project ![]() Since 1991, American Rivers has sponsored an annual event,
National River Cleanup. Last year over 95,000 volunteers joined
together to remove 600 tons of trash from waterways in 50 states. The Philadelphia Canoe Club, Fairmount Park and the Schuylkill Project are partnering to bring this cleanup event to the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. By land and water, join in the effort to clean up the Schuylkill River at East Falls and Manayunk on Saturday, June 1 from 9am to 12 noon. Volunteers will meet at three locations: the Philadelphia Canoe Club located on Ridge Avenue at the Wissahickon Creek and Schuylkill River, East Falls at the parking lot under the Twin Bridges between Ridge Avenue and Kelly Drive and Manayunk at the Lock Street parking lot. Meet at Bucks County for a free coffee and join us for a walk on the Manayunk Canal Towpath to the Flat Rock Dam.
